Work Out This Winter to get the Summer Swimsuit Body You've Always Wanted

You try on your favorite pair of jeans, but they don't fit and haven't for the past 2 years, but you are holding out hope that someday they will fit again.

Sure, you have heard it before that losing weight and keeping it off is not about a diet, but a lifestyle and it is true! It is important what you eat, period. The right nutrition not only results in weight loss but also fuels muscle gain. Experts recommend vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, dairy and fruit for a well-balanced diet.

Does that mean you can never splurge on your favorite unhealthy food or snack? You can reward yourself with a small treat from time to time but it is not a good idea to implement any of those unhealthy foods into your usual eating plan.

A fit body is a two-fold process including what you eat and working out. For example, if you want to be able to wear that old pair of jeans or look good in your bathing suit, these are good goals to have, plus the side effects of getting fit are also better for health and improved self-esteem.

It is important to choose the right trainer to help you reach your fitness goals. How do you choose the right personal trainer? By asking questions. Here are five questions you should ask before hiring a personal fitness trainer:

How long have you been a personal trainer? It is important to work with someone who

has lots of hands on experience training clients.

Do you have a degree in the field? You don't need a degree in exercises sciences to be a personal trainer but it is always beneficial to work with someone who has that knowledge.

What do you do for continuing education hours? All personal trainers must take continuing education courses to maintain licensure. Does the trainer actually take hands-on courses that will help them to grow and increase their knowledge or just filler online courses to get CEU credits?

What is your body view? Chiropractors, massage therapists, personal trainers, orthopedic surgeons all have their specific scope of practice and that determines how they choose to work with someone.

What is your definition of exercise? Personal trainers define exercise differently and it is going to greatly change how they approach programming for personal training.

Not all trainers will bring the same skill level to your workout. You want to choose a trainer who is educated, skilled and has experience so they can work with you towards the results you want without causing injury.
